The Institute has worked with EU projects since 2000, studying economic, industrial, business, integration, foreign relations and social issues. Currently, the Institute is working on Horizon 2020 projects, developing them in cooperation with foreign and Latvian partners, as well as Latvian projects financed with EU funds, including procurement, other small projects based on sociological, scientific and innovative direction.
In order to implement the participation of projects in Horizon 2020, the Institute of Economics of the Latvian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Latvian Academy of Sciences and other partners from Estonia, Belarus, Italy, Montenegro, Israel and Ukraine participated in the project “YOUNG-3-2015”. During the project, the Institute has gained new experience and new contacts, which will be involved in further projects.
Under Horizon 2020, the Institute as a project coordinator this year submitted a project “Integrating new food analysis techniques and methodology for improved assessment and management of food security and quality problems” within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program “Research and Innovation Staff Exchange”.
Based on previous experience, the Institute is interested in providing long-term permanent funding opportunities for research directions planned at different levels (EU funding, public procurement, in cooperation with entrepreneurs). In order to expand its scope of activities, the Institute attracts new project managers and executors, as well as participates in international conferences and seminars.
